Hi,
Solupred contains
prednisolone which is used to treat many different inflammatory conditions like arthritis, lupus, psoriasis,
ulcerative colitis,
allergic disorders,
endocrine gland disorders and conditions that affect the skin, eyes, lungs, stomach, nervous system or blood cells. Side effects of Solupred are nausea, vomiting, weight gain, sleeping problems, restlessness,
excessive sweating, thinning and easily bruising of the skin, impaired
wound healing, GIT upset, ulcers in stomach and duodenum, headache, hunger, dizziness, menstrual period changes, heartburn, puffiness of face, hiccups, facial hair growth, acnes, allergic reactions etc.
Some measures or steps should be taken to cope with side effects of Solupred for using a long term period like taking regular healthy balanced diet and exercising daily to prevent weight gain, take this medication with food or antiulcerant to reduce the chances of stomach problems, take it in the morning so the levels are the lowest at bedtime to prevent sleep problems and restlessness, try wearing loose clothing and keep cool with a fan to prevent excessive sweating etc.
Take care. Hope I Have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician,
