What Causes Loss Of Appetite And Passing Of Watery Green Stool?

My son has been off schedule with his sleeping patterns, very light sleeper now, he rarely eats but drinks milk, juice and water throughout the day for the past few days now. He has had greenish sometimes slimy poop for the past 2 days. Hes very cranky and cries a lot. Could this just be possible diarrhea or should I just go to his pediatrician?? Thanks for any advice u can give!!

Hi, thank you for posting!

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Watery green stool is caused by excessive sugar consumption. By lowering the amount of sugar he eats, your son is going to have more appetite and stool is going to be normal.

However a complete blood count, an urine test and a stool culture are necessary in order to confirm the diagnosis.

Consult his pediatric gastroenterologist.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
