What Causes Skin Rash After Taking Digoxin?

My husband started Digoxin 0.065 mg od and yesterday he noticed some small red patches and tonight he called me and the rash has raised lesions and the rash has spread from his right side abdomen to around the mid back. He does have an insulin injection Levimir 10 units each evening but has been on that for about 3 months. Is he having a reaction to the Digoxin?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

Skin rashes can be side effects of Digoxin. You should stop taking it and consult your treating physician urgently. Antihistaminic drugs or steroid are useful in treating rash due to drug sensitivity. But it is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
