What Causes Stoppage In Periods?

PlHi I am 52yrs old and have not had a period for 3 yrs. About 3 weeks ago I started bleeding. I have seen a gynachologist and she looked inside my urerus. She did not find anything, so sent me for an ultrasound scan and a TVS. There was a dome like structure on the outside muscle of my uterus. The radiographer said it could be a fibroid?? I have been reading about fibroids and it seems that they are not common in post menopausal women. I also had a blood test CA125. My next appointment is in 2 weeks time, but I can't stop worrying. I have read about sarcomas and this concerns me greatly. My daughter had a large tumor removed from her bowel in 2007 and she has got a faulty gene HNPCC I think. I am also being tested for this gene. I have 3 sisters who had hystorectomies in their late 30s, due to fybroids.

Can you suggest anything to put my mind at rest.
