What Causes Swollen Red Hand With Hard Wipe Tipped Bumps That Are Tender On Left Arm?

7 yr ld daughter woke up this morning with a very swollen red hand with hard wipe tipped bumps that were very tender. I treated it with benedryl cream and sent her off to school. By 2pm the teacher called and said to come get her as the rash and swelling had travelled up her arm. She now has this rash/welts all down her left leg, the left side of her torso, her left arm and hand. I can t figure out what it could be. I have her soaking in an oatmeal bath and that has taken the itch away but the red bumps persist.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Her symptoms are suggestive of a generalized allergic reaction. For this reason, it is important consulting with a pediatrician for a physical exam. She may need to take oral anti-allergic drugs or make a steroid shot.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
