What Causes Vaginal Dryness After Salpingectomy?

36, 5 2, 120. I had a Salpingectomy in January 2012. I have experienced vaginal dryness ever since. Is this a common symptom and what are some answers to restore moisture? I currently use Estrace once a wk (1 gram) and take evening primrose oil 3 times a day. I am too young for this.

Hello,

Vaginal dryness is a very common side effect post salpingectomy. Please have good hydration by drinking plenty of water. Continue your medications of Estrace and primrose oil. Use vaginal estrogen cream everyday for at least 2 weeks and then four times weekly to reduce vaginal dryness.

Use a vaginal lubricant such as Evion cream at the time of sexual intercourse or even daily. I can understand it's too much for your age but please be positive about the changes the above treatment would bring and you will improve certainly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
