What Could Imbalance And Pain Behind The Head After An Injury Indicate?
Hello, a few days ago, I sustained a head injury while playing soccer. I was knocked unconscious for around 30 seconds. Before regaining consciousness, several witnesses said that I had a seizure like motion for a few seconds and woke up. I was treated and released from the hospital. I received a CT scan and told that everything was fine. However, several days later, things are not normal. I am having sharp, searing pains in the back of my head, and I find myself becoming very dizzy and losing balance while doing normal day to day activities such as standing up or even getting dressed. Should I visit my doctor?
Hello ! I read your question and understand your concern! As you refer you have suffered a brain concussion. I think your symptoms are caused by the concussion and may be a disorder called post traumatic headache. It is associated with dizziness and imbalance and can last for months after concussion. It will probably pass and get better day after day. You just need a little rest. If the troubles persist or get worse I would recommend a brain CT scan to rule out a subdural hemorrhage, which is a blood accumulation inside your head which grows slowly. Hope to have been helpful! Thank you for using HCM! Best wishes, Dr. Abaz
