Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m 45 I have MS and I m 11 years out on gastric bypass. I m 5 11 and weigh 99lbs. I m very malnurished and getting weaker and weakers daily and weekly. I m almost to the point of being unable to walk. I m very depressed and have tried everything I can to gain some weight. I don t have a GP doctor, I only have my Nero. I have been doing a lot of research and believe I need to be admitted to a hospital and have a feeding tube put in for a while. Do you have any suggestions?
However, first and foremost, I must warn you that in your efforts to gain weight, please see to it that you don't start with eating unhealthy food and at unhealthy timings. Unhealthy jun food may increase your weight, but it will cause more harm to your body than good.
In your efforts to gain weight, I'd suggest the following measure - 1. Eat healthy food. 2. Eat a balanced diet i.e a diet consisting of all the essentials that your body needs eg., green leafy vegetables, fruits, milk, egg and non-vegetarian food (if you eat it). 3. You may consider adding slightly more oil to your food. Also, slightly increase your consumption of rice. 4. Take proper sleep. 5. Lead a healthy lifestyle. 6. If you are into too much lhysical work, you may decrease it a bit.
Hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.
Wishing you the best. Regards, Dr. Sridhar Reddy
