When Does Lots Of Blood, Thick White Comes Out Of Mouth? Took Medications For Hypertension, Depression, Methadone
found Mother-in-law passed away. she was face down on floor lots of blood and a little thick white coming out of mouth. Hx: hypertesion, depression , anxiety, she also smoked Rx: included xanax , some form of anti-depr,bp meds, methadone from a clinic for drug abuse problems (all dr. prescribed). All meds where found and had not taken anymore than what was prescribed. Had been passed away for 6-8 hours when found. No autopsy just bloodwork. No results yet. Does this happen (blood- thick white around mouth) when you have heart attack, pulmonary edema, or aneurysm??

There are various possibilities for the blood and mucous found when your mother-in-law was found dead. It could have been 'hematemisis', i.e. vomiting of blood from the upper gastro-interstinal tract (e.g. esophagus tears or varices or large stomach ulcers or erosions). It is also possible that it could have been a massive 'hemoptysis', i.e. coughing up of blood from the lungs (e.g. bronchiectasis, tuberculosis, lung abcess, etc.). There is also the possibility of a suicidal attempt by consuming a corrosive poison.
Heart attack or pulmonary edema is unlikely to present with bringing up of large amounts of blood. However, a pulmonary artery aneurysm (ruptured) can be a possible cause.
I understand that you are very distressed and confused regarding her sudden death. But without an autopsy, these possibilities would just be speculations. So, I would suggest that you try to gain a closure on this matter as early as possible so that you can put your mind to rest.

Firstly I am sorry for what has happened to your mother in law. Thick white and blood can come out of mouth due to various reasons. Pulmonary edema is one of them. Froth can come out of mouth which after some time becomes thick. Blood can come if there is seizure before the death which normally occurs and when the patient bites his/her tongue.
The description that you have given is very much possible. probably there is no need to suspect foul play.
