Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 11 month old has had a low grade fever and really red cheeks for a week now. He had fifth disease a month ago and I was told they only get that once. Is this true? He also has a rash on his private area and lower tummy that has come up in recent days. What could this be? He doesn't act as if this is affecting him?
Hello dear , Fifth disease is caused by parvovirus B19. It is most prevalent at kids, but it can spread among people of any age.Any disease can repeat second time if immunity is low.It looks as fifth disease You just give to her acetaminophen(Tylenol) and wait she will fight off the virus. Keep her hydrated with plenty of water Wishing your baby speedy recovery
