Wondering What Could Be The Cause Of My Sons Mouth Sores ?

Wondering what could be the cause of my Son's Mouth Sores.
hey there, my son is 1 1/2 yrs of age and has had some low fever since Monday, it appears that he has developed some sores on his lips and around the mouth area, the roof of his mouth appears to be swollen and when we attempt to brush his teeth, he begins to bleed quite a bit, he doesn't complain of pain when the blood comes out, more of a complaint about the discomfort he may be feeling, Clinic told us yesterday that it was just a virus and would go away on it's own, but I'm not convinced that it's just that. Anything you may assist me with would be grateful.

When the tissue is damaged you do see such skin lesions, especially in viral fevers. So that is the case. It is obvious that it bleeds on trying to brush it. Hence minimize friction in the area and you shall be able to reduce discomfort to him.
