Would A Blood Clot Occurred From Whiplash Is The Cause For Neck Pain, Migraines, Memory Loss And Muscle Aches And Should I Go For A CAT Scan And MRI?

in auto accident (rearended) 2 months ago...neck pain, migraines, muscle aches, memory problems, sleep deprived and I'm in physical therapy and taking naratriptan and nsaid meds
first 2 pills lasted 8 hours, 2nd 2 pills lasted 6 hours, now , 1 pill, lasted 2 1/4 hours...have seen neurologist , he prescribed naratriptan, and next step is a "nerve block" (shots to the back of the head) Haven't had a cat scan or mri
shouldn't I have at least a cat scan or mri to rule out anything else associated with these migraines?
Would a blood clot occur from whiplash and would that affect what this dr. is going to do next?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A whiplash injury usually affects the spine.
Head is usually not involved in case of whiplash injury.
The CT scan and MRI of the spine is required in such cases.
Requirement of CT scan and/ or MRI of head can only be decided after getting full information about the type of injuries sustained.
Did the symptoms mentioned by you- migraine, sleep disturbance appear after the accident or were present earlier?
If they appeared only after the accident then CT scan of the head is required.
If the accident caused any kind of injury to the head, the imaging of the head needs to be done.
You need to discuss the requiement of CT head with your treating doctor.

Thanks and take care
