A diet rich in silica, calcium and iron, is helpful in reducing and preventing hair loss. Green, leafy vegetables, sea vegetables, have good mineral content. Raw oats contain silica. Dried fruits and cherry juice are very rich sources of iron.~

 

Hair loss can be indicative of a problem in the gastrointestinal tract. Hair loss may result from deficiency of protein, zinc and other nutrients. Lactobacillus Acidophilus tablets are even prescribed to the patients as they may be of some help.

 

Low fat diet is recommended for the patients suffering from balding as low fat is believed to help in the condition but no definitive evidence exists to support the belief. It is been said that high fat diet will lead to increased testosterone levels in the body which in turn will lead to falling of the hairs from the follicles. Some studies covering various geographies suggests that the regions in which high fat diet is preferred more persons will face baldness.

 

Anemia can result in hair loss. Iron-rich foods, like liver and other organ meat, whole grain cereals, dark green leafy vegetables, eggs, dates, and raisins help in increasing body iron reserves and thus cope with baldness.

 

For good hair growth high protein diet like brewer's yeast, wheat germ, and granulated lecithin is helpful. Along with protein, these foods are also high in B vitamins, an important nutrient for hair growth. It is believed that soy protein is good for hair growth; rich sources include Tofu and soy milk, low-fat cheese, eggs, fish, beans, brewer's yeast and yogurt.

 

Silica is important for good hair growth. Silica therapy slows baldness, stimulate healthier hair growth and assure beautiful shine, luster and strength. Silica rich shampoos are believed to be of some help in hair loss. Potatoes, green and red peppers, cucumbers, Bean sprouts are rich source of silica. Vitamin C improves the absorption of iron. Include a good serving of fruits and vegetables in your diet.Vitamin E are important for healthy hair growth. Eat avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil on a regular basis.

 

Thyroid dysfunction may lead to hair loss in such condition one should eat more foods rich in vitamin A and iodine. Eat vegetables such as carrots or spinach in unrefined, cold-pressed seed oils such as flax, walnut or pumpkin seed and sea salt. Take turnips, cabbage, mustard, soy beans, peanuts, pine nuts and millet if there is a deficiency of iodine.
