Normally the sweat which we produce will not have any smell. Normally the body produces watery sweat which evaporates quickly.


There are various causes for body odor like hormonal changes, excessive sweating, infections, and certain toxins in the body. The major thing to prevent odor is maintaining the personal hygiene

  • Certain foods especially the spicy foods like garlic can increase the body odor.
  • You need to go barefoot as many hours as possible. Let the air out for at least 24 hours between the wearings.
  • Use an antibacterial soap for taking bath to eliminate the growth of bacteria.
  • Avoid excess intake of coffee and tea.
  • Take more of fresh vegetables and fruits which help to detoxify the body.
  • Use wipes or tissues to wipe the sweat or use a premoistened towelette to wash the odor instantly
  • Use absorbent socks to help in soaking of the moisture from the foot. Change the socks frequently.
  • Keep the body dry by applying the talcum powder to the odor area. Avoid products that contain cornstarch which can exacerbate the problem.
  • If you have excess of sweat you can use antiperspirants
  • Junk food, processed foods or foods increase the levels of toxins in the body.
  • Do not use deodorants to cover up the odor instead you need to take the preventive measures to improve the food intake to fight the body odor.
  • Drink lot of water to remove the toxins.
