Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Neighbors; one just was diagnosed with Gastroparesis.... and, next door, another middle aged woman was diagnosed years ago, and sadly, is losing ground, with Hirschsprungs Disease. As a layman, with no medical training, could this be an environmental issue and could their respective illnesses actually be the same? JW
The possibility of environmental causes may affect the gastroparesis. Viral infection, genetic, diabetes, Gillian barre syndrome or storage and the metabolic issue may cause this problem.
40%of individuals cause is not known. Among which female are predominant.
Need biopsy and evaluation. For chronic nausea and vomiting need gastric electrical stimulation.
Please consult your physician/gastroenterologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
