Child Complaining Of Itching All Over. Given Benadryl And Motrin. Have Slight Redness. Underlying Cause?
My 10 yr old grandson has been complaining of itching first few days all over... Next few mostly outside of hands and ankles. He says it feels like a million bee stings. We have been giving Benadryl and Motrin which has helped. There is a very slight redness in those areas ,no bumps ,or real rash. His baby sister has a similar rash ,and a little cousin has had one for about a month, now confined to the diaper area. He seems very agitated whe at its worse. He has been lying low. , usually very active . Is there a virus with these symptoms ? Should we be concerned?

Hi Thanks for your query. It seems to be allergic in nature. I suggest you to continue with benadryl for few days .Apply calamine lotion over affected area. Try to find is there any allergen so that it could be avoided. Maintain good diet so as to increase immunity. In case it persist get him examined by pediatrician as physical examination will be required. Hope this helps. Wishing your child good health. God bless..
