What Causes The Pain And Rash In The Back?

I have what feels like a cramping pain on the middle left side of my back around the rib cage and to the middle side of my stomach just under my rib cage. It also has a rash in the same area from back around the side and to the front in the same exact spots i feel the crcramping pain. And the rash has little pains on the surface of the skin. Like a needle poking.

Hi, thank you for posting!

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

According to your symptoms, I think that your suffer from herpes zoster, which is a viral condition.

Its diagnosis is simple and is based on visual examination, because the rash it produces is typical.

The treatment is made with antivirals, such as acyclovir in tablet and cream form for external use; painkillers; vitamin therapy.

You need to contact your neurologist, in order to determine the right diagnosis and treatment.

Feel free to ask me for anything unclear.

Take care,
Dr. Behar.
